The story of the life of Marie Rivier is almost solely the story of her devotion to the Blessed Virgin, of an uninterrupted reciprocity of trust and favors, of prayers and graces obtained by the intercession of the Virgin Mary. Her experiences as a child are the starting point of this wonderful story of a reciprocity of love that allows the glory of God to transform her physical incapacity into a life of Holy Love!
Her Cause of Canonization
The process of the Cause of Blessed Marie Rivier’s Canonization has reached the final stage called the Roman phase. Marie Rivier is a witness of God’s love. She embodied Jesus Christ, he was her passion. She was passionate about all that Jesus Christ loved … the Gospel, His Mother, the Beatitudes, the poor, the children and youth. We pray that the Church will recognize the holy life she lived.
In her Footsteps
Marie Rivier left her daughters a tremendous spiritual heritage. To return to our Sources is to walk in her footsteps beginning in Montpezat, in the mountainous Region of Ardèche. To return to our Sources is to touch and see her in the humble and glorious ways she lived and served. These are the silent witnesses of the greatness of this small Woman of God, a Woman-Apostle for the Church.
At an early age Marinette already had an intuition of God’s mission for her life. When the time came she fulfilled her mission with boundless generosity and compassion, with unconditional love and service. She prophesied that one day her daughters would cross the seas to bring the fire of God’s love everywhere!
Marie Rivier lived a wholly interior spirit rooted in the spirit of Jesus Christ. We are her daughters, called to live like her: to know Jesus Christ in the Gospel, to live Jesus Christ in his mysteries and to reveal and teach Jesus Christ by our whole life …such is our vocation, our mission and our way of being!
In the ordinariness of daily life, we heard God’s call and listened and responded to his invitation to follow Jesus Christ in the way of Marie Rivier. As Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, we are called to live like Mary in a state of adoration and offering before God belonging absolutely to Jesus Christ for time and eternity.
