Jesus Christ was at the heart of Marie Rivier\u2019s life. His love impelled her to move forward amidst the turmoil of her time. Like a pilgrim who seeks the star, the light and the source, love impels us not to stop, never to give in to the temptation of the easiest way. … transform the peripheries, those that are far away and those that are closer to us, those that exist in our hearts and in our communities all around us. There are so many people searching for the Lord. \u201cEveryone is looking for you.\u201d Jesus said to them, “Let us go to the nearby villages that I may proclaim the Gospel there also. A voice whispers: welcome others, love, LOOK! Open your eyes, your heart, your hands to all those you meet on the path of life, regardless of race or culture!<\/span><\/p>\n

Our offering, united to Christ\u2019s, becomes effective when we consent to the exigencies of love of our consecration. … With our hearts fixed on Jesus Christ to think as he thought, act as he acted, love as he loved, day after day, we seek to live the concrete gestures of a generous fidelity even in the smallest details. By this radical option lived in joy, we glorify the Father, the Son and the Spirit of holiness. We are part of a multitude of sisters and brothers.<\/span><\/p>\n

… is to open pathways, to have objectives, to build bridges, to feel that the other is my brother, my sister, to discover their talents and to value them. Not giving up in the face of failure, opening new paths on the plain and on the mountain, with the audacity and creativity of those who know they are not alone.<\/span><\/p>\n

…is to leave, without leaving one’s interiority, to approach others in solidarity, to progress, to commit oneself to beauty, to be transparent, to welcome the sun, the moon, the day, the night, to take creative initiatives, to have clear projects, to have a vision of the future, to accept the risk of not understanding everything, but to move forward, as Abraham did: … go to the land that I will show you. God is always moving forward on the path of reality, of beauty, of gratuity, of dynamism, of the appreciation of the other, of creation, of events, for today and in the future. Marie Rivier, a prophet for our time, with a fascinating spiritual greatness, is a sign of the love of God present in history. She proclaimed Jesus everywhere she went, warming hearts, transforming lives, and making the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ grow ever stronger.<\/span><\/p>\n

A STEP, a movement that is performed while walking, one foot in front of the other. When walking, sometimes it is necessary to quicken our step.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Church’s recognition of the holiness of our Foundress is an impelling invitation to follow more closely the one we can now call Saint Marie Rivier.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let us contemplate and follow this astonishing woman, whose life, from beginning to end, jostles us and prods us; (F. Lassus, A Woman of Faith, Courage and Zeal, page xiii)<\/em>.
