MARIE RIVIER: A Face to discover <\/span><\/h2>\nA Testimony <\/span><\/h2>\nBlessed Mother Marie Rivier was a woman of faith, hope, love and compassion. Her grit, her passion and commitment to make Jesus Christ known and loved across the seas were put into fruition through the Congregation of the Presentation of Mary Sisters. Holy Cross of Malalag, my Alma Mater, continues the mission of Christian Education of the youth and that\u2019s what I\u2019m proudest about!<\/span><\/p>\nI believed that the way of life \u201cto Christ through Mary\u201d that was instilled in me and my siblings by the PM Sisters, was among those strong Christian foundations we have prayed for, in the family by our God fearing and loving parents who are now in heaven.<\/span><\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/soeurs-de-la-presentation-de-marie.org\/pom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Mr.-J-Calumpong.png\")
I had a chance to read the book on the life, works and teachings of Blessed Mother Rivier. Sr. Lorna Murillo P.M. former School Principal Of HCM, had asked me to write a script about the life story of Mother Rivier for n a theatrical school presentation. As the Alumni President at that time, I cannot say no but just tried my best and did the challenging favor . It was this time that I\u2019ve known Blessed Mother Rivier better than what I\u2019ve learned during my high school years.<\/span><\/p>\nHer life, works and deeds impacted my life from there and onward. She was a strong willed woman of faith as she rise above all situations. At young age, she never cease to call upon Jesus and Mary to heal her. Her request seemed impossible to many because she was physically handicap since still a baby. But one day God answered her prayer, a miracle happened, and people around saw her walked for the first time. Her faith to Jesus and Mary was rooted to this miracle of God\u2019s grace and mercy. And many more miracles had happened as she endeavored to do great things to established well the congregation. <\/span><\/p>\nThe script was successfully presented to honor a great mother. I was so moved and inspired that I was able to compose two songs about her– \u201cAwit ni Marie Rivier\u201d and \u201cMother Rivier Ikaw ang Idol Ko<\/em>\u201d. Her life, works and deeds influenced my life as I always asked to pray for me to God that I could be His instrument through the songs I write.<\/span><\/p>\nSo far, almost all of the songs I composed be it a school or municipal hymn, theme songs of events, Religious celebration, graduation songs etc, I never failed to include the lines that would remind every ear about God\u2019s love, grace and mercy and that, Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life.<\/span><\/p>\nIn some religious song writing competitions, I took the opportunity to make Jesus known and loved . Humbly, I know I am not perfect but I believed that God blessed me with this talent for a purpose: to Christ through Mary and with the intercession of Blessed Mother Rivier . After all, we are not for the things of this world but for the true richness that Mother Rivier aspired, the real treasures that are stored up in heaven.
