Without much delay, the general treasurer’s financial report appeared before us on the screen. The treasurer’s report focused on the four areas of the financial situation. These were General Administration, Canonization, the Global Vision of the PM Congregation and the Compassion and Solidarity Fund. The report was clear, appreciated and communicates transparency. The delegates found the presentation of the financial situation interesting… unusual for a financial report, but true. The figures had a story to tell!<\/p>\n
The Fond Pontanier group represented by S Germaine Lapierre and Joselyne Desloges have spent a good deal of time shedding some light on what Fond Pontanier is, with its objectives and the laws that surround it. The Fond Pontanier operates around Canadian laws, therefore it is required to comply with. After each part of the report, there was an opportunity to ask questions. At the end, Sr. Michelle Kujabi thanked both guests from Fond Pontanier.<\/p>\n
In the afternoon, the delegates were in a re-reading session. Rereading or reviewing what had been heard from Saturday night’s reports until today. There were two moments of re-reading. The first was silent personal reflection, followed by sharing in small groups.<\/p>\n
These moments were accompanied by the same questions: What was the stirring in one\u2019s heart? What were the calls or challenges heard that point the Congregation towards the future? Back in the plenary session, each group shared what had been transpired in their small groups sharing. These were treated as materials for future discernment.<\/p>\n
Before leaving the room, the members of the Commission on Proposal presented the documents for reading and study.<\/p>\n
For all that was done today, we give thanks to God. The day ended with the celebration of the Word and Bread.<\/p>\n
