Day of the election of our Superior General<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today we started the day with the Cross of Marie Rivier on the altar. How exciting was last night’s celebration, with the participation of all the countries!<\/p>\n

Free Lauds and breakfast. Gianfranco Poli, Episcopal Delegate for Consecrated Life in the Diocese of Albano, presided the eucharistic celebration.<\/p>\n

In the first reading (1 Kings 3:5,7-12) Solomon asks God for wisdom to govern his people and to know how to discern between good and evil. In the second reading (1 Cor 12:4-13) the central theme was the diversity of gifts: We are like a mosaic, each piece of the mosaic is unique, but none is the whole mosaic. If any piece is missing, the harmony in the mosaic is lost. How can we seek harmony in our community life? The gospel was Jn 14, 23 – 29: If anyone loves me he will keep my word, my Father will love him, we will come to him and dwell in him… the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you, I give you my peace, and not as the world gives it. Do not be troubled and do not be dismayed.<\/p>\n

After the Eucharist, we began the ritual of the election: after invoking the Spirit during the singing of the litanies, the members of the Chapter went in procession to the electoral hall where the voting took place and Mother Maria dos Anjos was re-elected for 6 more years. She accepted the position, we returned to the Chapel and the sister with more years of profession imposed again the Cross of Maria Rivier. We sang the Te Deum in thanksgiving. As a gesture of obedience, all the Sisters, including those from Castel who had come as Moses to support the prayer, went to kiss the Cross of our Foundress. The Chapel erupted in a feast of music and dance. The photos by delegations were taken at the feet of the image of Marie Rivier placed over the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica on the day of her Canonization. The news spread throughout the world.<\/p>\n

The news spread around the world and congratulations to the Mother began to arrive.<\/p>\n

At 4:00 p.m. we began again our work focused on the discernment for the election of the General Councilors. After some information from the moderator, we made a personal reflection and went into groups to discuss two possible scenarios of government.<\/p>\n

We prayed vespers in the group and ended the day by taking the COVID tests and detecting some positives that are already in the process of improvement.<\/p>\n

We continued on our way, united in prayer and discernment.<\/p>\n
