Diamond Jubilee of Consecrated Life

\nOn August 22, at the end of the annual retreat led by Fr. Lu\u00eds Provid\u00eancia, SJ, we celebrated our Jubilarian Sisters of 2026 at the Provincial House in Set\u00fabal. <\/p>\n
The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by the leader of our retreat and concelebrated by Father Fernando Lopes, a friend of one of our Jubilarians. <\/p>\n
With Sister Filomena Pedro, Sister Am\u00e1lia Gouveia, Sister Arminda Tavares, and Sister Teresa Sousa, we sang about the gift of God\u2019s faithfulness throughout these 60 years of consecrated life.
\nAll the sisters from our communities shared this moment of great communion and joy, as well as some family members and friends of our honorees. <\/p>\n
In his homily, Fr. Lu\u00eds Provid\u00eancia highlighted Mary\u2019s attitude at the Annunciation of the Angel: Mary had no human certainties, she even asked questions, but she did not dwell on her doubts; she trusted and gave herself completely to God\u2019s plan in a full Fiat, and the Word was made flesh. This is how it happened with Marie Rivier, who at the beginnings of the Congregation’s foundation must have experienced the same thing, but she trusted, and God’s work happened. The same certainly happened in the lives of the sisters who are celebrating their 60 years of religious life today. Despite their weaknesses, God’s grace in their lives allowed faithfulness to become a reality. <\/p>\n
It will always be this way… God at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end. <\/p>\n
This was followed by the festive lunch and a big gathering, and around 4 p.m., we headed to the Chapel for the solemn Vespers and the Consecration to Our Lady by our jubilee sisters. <\/p>\n
