The HCCC dancers gleefully welcomed the delegation from Calinan, Mintal, Catalunan, Toril, Mlang, Malalag, Padada, Malita, Sta. Maria, Basiawan, Boronggan, and Clarin, Bohol Chapters.

Spiritual and cultural activities were avenues to know one another, share God-given talents and celebrate oneness of purpose and mission. The convention was truly a socio-spiritual gathering of wonderful souls and spirits and energy inspired by the virtues of Blessed Marie Rivier, the Foundress.
The first day of the convention was capped with a BonFire ceremony dubbed as: “Marie Rivier’s Heart on Fire for the Youth”. The BonFire symbolizes Jesus Christ, the source of light from whom the Presentation of Mary (PM) Sisters get their energy and thus burning with fire like Marie Rivier dared to gather the MRAs. The passing on of the fire from the PM Sisters to the MRAs symbolizes their apostolate and mission to become companions of the youth on the journey towards communion. Passing on the light will continue as the youth fulfill their mission to serve fellow youth and do the work of evangelization.

A Sunrise Liturgy opened the second day of the convention. Sr. Samuelita Enriquez, PM, Provincial Superior of the Philippine Province, delivered her inspirational message. Sr. Sam said “Indeed, this year’s theme is well chosen. It is faithful to “who we are” as MRAs and Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, relevant to what Marie Rivier passionately loved and what the Philippines is celebrating this year, “the Youth”. She challenged everyone to unfold the theme into reality and concluded with a wish and prayer: the “Yes” of Mary as we journey with our youth and the Catholic Church of the Philippines called to proclaim: They are Beloved, They are Gifted, They are Empowered!

Rev. Fr. Marbendear Morallas, DCD, of the Regional Major Seminary, in his talk, said that the youth is in the heart of the PM ministry and journeying with them is companionship. He further said that “If you want to form them, then make them your partners.” During the Eucharistic Celebration, new MRAs and the current members were accepted and renewed in their commitment.

The MRA is the extended family of the Presentation of Mary Sisters that helps in bringing the fire of the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ everywhere. It provides an opportunity for men and women to share in the spirituality and mission of the PM Sisters in accordance to the spirit of their Blessed Foundress Marie Rivier.

By : Ms. Lily Babayenon

ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder

The 35th Marie Rivier Associates (MRA) Convention held on February 8-9, 2019 at the Holy Cross College of Calinan (HCCC) grounds in Davao City, Philippines was an overwhelming success!
