EVERYTHING IS GRACE!

Everything is grace! The Philippine Province rejoices in the Perpetual Profession of Sr. Michelle May Seng Caligner and Sr. April Margarette Anung Hiquial. The celebration started with a vigil on June 20 where they shared with the community their experiences and convictions.

On the following day, June 21, 2022 on the Memorial of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, the Eucharistic celebration was celebrated by Archbishop Romulo G. Valles of Davao. Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo of the Diocese of Kidapawan concelebrated with the Archbishop and 23 other priests. Present also were their relatives, friends and members of other religious congregations who witnessed this beautiful  ceremony of their lifetime commitment.

This passage from St. John depicts the entirety of their vocation, “It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you” (Jn. 15:16). Sr. Michelle May and Sr. April Margarette were fully convinced that God has chosen them to consecrate their lives as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to Him. During the course of their journey as temporary professed sisters, they experienced God’s gratuitous love and mercy in spite of their weaknesses and their lack of love.

They recognized the vastness of God’s love that pursues them and helps them capture their true identity as His Beloved, especially when they felt unworthy of their self-offering and they found themselves drawn to the values of the world. These experiences with God were sources of  their deepest joy to face each new day with love and joy.

They acknowledge with gratitude the support of the Congregation, the members of their families and the whole Church, which helped them persevere in fidelity in the daily challenges of loving God. As they made the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience for their whole life they asked God to accept their sacred commitments and to give them the grace to keep them faithfully. With the help of the community, may they be strengthened in their holy resolve.
