ENTRY TO NOVITIATE
The novitiate is a school of faith; a school of life lived according to the values of Jesus Christ.
After 5 years of praying and hoping, we come with great joy to share the good news of the entry to the novitiate of Christine Jatta. She began her novitiate on February 3rd, 2022, on this great day when we celebrate the anniversary of the death of our beloved Foundress, Marie Rivier.
The ceremony began with a community gathering, followed by a talk given by our Regional Superior. This was followed by words of advice given to the future novice by some of the sisters and a procession to the chapel. After the procession we had an initiation ritual and then we prayed Vespers together. During Vespers, Christine presented her symbol. Explaining her symbol, a rock, she said, “Christ is my solid rock and my hope is built on Him.” Christine was filled with joy and the sisters of the Region also felt this same joy!
On this same day, Sr. Marie Solange, our Regional Superior, read the letter of Rev. Mother Maria dos Anjos to the sisters announcing our new leadership team, in the persons of: Sr. Marie Solange Badji (Regional superior), Sr. Michelle A. Kujabi (Assistant and Councillor), Sr. Bernadette Bah (Councillor), Sr. Madeleine. Mendy (Councillor) and Sr. Rosine Sanyang (Councillor). May God be their strength.
After Vespers we celebrated with a festive meal.
