CAUSE OF CANONIZATION OF BLESSED MARIE RIVIER
CAUSE OF CANONIZATION OF BLESSED MARIE RIVIER
Let us move forward in HOPE…
Dr. Waldery Hilgeman, JUD was officially appointed on August 1, 2017 by the Congregation for the Causes of Saints as the Postulator for the process of the Canonization of Blessed Marie Rivier. The appointment was made by our Superior General, Mother Angèle Dion.
Under the direction of the Postulator and in collaboration with the sisters of the Philippine Province, we had organized a Diocesan Tribunal in the Diocese of Tagbilaran where the healing had occurred. The Tribunal was responsible to conduct the Diocesan Inquiry which is the initial phase of the process.
Opening of the Diocesan Inquiry: November 19, 2018
Closing of the Diocesan Inquiry: December 1, 2018
Dr. Emanuele Spedicato, the Vice–postulator/translator was appointed as the official Carrier of the documents to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in Rome. The documents were deposited on December 3, 2018.
We thank all the Sisters and the whole family of the Presentation of Mary who accompanied us with their prayers throughout this Diocesan Inquiry. Those days were lived with many emotions especially that of JOY! The daily work with and among the members of the Diocesan Tribunal was a bonding experience for us as the family of Marie Rivier. Simplicity, human warmth and joy describe the fraternal relationships that we lived together. Through the daily process of the Diocesan Inquiry, we lived the sense of “beginning to realize” the desire and hope of our hearts. We experienced the unity of being gathered for one purpose: that the Church would confirm the holiness of Blessed Marie Rivier and proclaim her a Saint! The presence of Mother Rivier accompanied us throughout this journey. This experience has been a pilgrimage of faith in God’s faithful love, of growth in hope, and to hope with a deeper love!
On February 4, 2019 after the celebration of the Feast of Mother Rivier’s entrance to heaven, Dr. Waldery Hilgeman, together with Mother Maria dos Anjos Alves and her Council, witnessed the opening of the documents at the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. Fr. Turek Boguslaw took the time to explain to Mother Maria dos Anjos and her Council the Roman phase of the process which is the final stage.
Meanwhile, we are all called to pray and to accompany with our prayers everyone who will be involved in the Cause of Blessed Marie Rivier. Let us move forward in hope for a joyful conclusion to this process. This hope that thrusts us to pray with much faith and love: May the most holy and adorable will of God be done in all things, may it be praised and forever be glorified. Amen!
All for God! All through Holy Love!
