Let’s move forward in the footsteps of St. Maria Rivier

At 10 a.m. on September 2, we met again in the Chapter Hall for the start of the day’s activities. After brief words from the Superior General, Mother Maria dos Anjos Alves, to the Chapter members, Sister Marian Murcia, the Chapter moderator, invited us to a moment of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: God’s voice is best heard in silence.  Listen to Him, He’s going to tell you who He wants to be part of the number of Councilors for the next six years. What are the gifts and abilities, she continued, that our council needs to keep the fire alive and be a sign of communion in the midst of diversity.

After worship, we returned to the Chapter Hall.

After each election, Mother Maria dos Anjos asked her if she would accept this service, to which she replied positively with God’s grace, the help and prayers of the sisters.

After a moment of applause and greetings, the moderator, Sr. Mariam Murcia, announced the election of the Assistant Superior General. We ended by thanking the Lord and entrusting our Superior General and her council to the care of the Almighty and the of the Holy Spirit in the exercise of their mission to animate our Congregation for the next six years.
