God’s double blessing

With Sister Geneviève Couriaud, we celebrated the gift of God’s double blessing: 83 years of life and 60 years of Religious Life. Your life, Sr Geneviève, reflects the words of Jesus, ‘How blessed are those who hear the Word of God and keep it.’ Eighty three years of walking with Jesus in faith and sixty years of faithful service were not always an easy journey, but your act of faith in listening and keeping the Word of God brought transformation and it has led you this far. We rejoice with you and give thanks to God for your gift of self to the Sisters Presentation of Mary, your gifts of service, joy, wisdom, smiles and the many talents you bring to share with us. Our prayers are with you and for you today and always.

At the Heart of the Congregation, we celebrated and honored Sister Geneviève. Sister was given a beautiful corsage by Mother Maria dos Anjos. Our celebration began with the Eucharist, prayers and singing, and the renewal of her religious vows. A festive lunch was held in honor of S Geneviève. She was presented with congratulations and good wishes, cards and gifts which are all a sign of appreciation and joy for sister’s life totally given to the Lord.

As a daughter of Marie Rivier, when you give yourself to the Lord, you give Him all that you are. Sister has given her best and her heart to the Lord through the Congregation. For your service as a General Councilor, we celebrate you. For your gift of journeying with pilgrims and the junior professed sisters on their spiritual renewal, teaching them the history of the church and the Congregation, we thank you. You are 83 years old today but your heart is young and your zealous energy is amazing.

An abundance of goodness lies deep within you for which we thank God. May Mary our Mother and Marie Rivier watch over you and intercede for you.
