Year of Fraternal Life

Year of Fraternal Life

THE LAUNCHING OF THE YEAR OF FRATERNAL LIFE (I)

“ Let us come together.”

– Marie Rivier –

The General Chapter in 2017 mandated the General Administration to deepen the words of Marie Rivier “Let us come together” and to develop a true spirituality of communion that opens us to others and keeps us in harmony with the whole of creation. It is our prayer and wish that Communion be a reality in our Congregation as we turn the pages of our 225 years of existence. Fraternal life is one of the essential elements of our religious life and it holds a special place for us. “Let us come together” were the words that burst forth from the heart of Marie Rivier and that have been transmitted by her daughters from generation to generation (cf D33b)

On January 29, 2022, Mother Maria dos Anjos Alves, launched a year of Fraternal Life for the whole Congregation, by Zoom — the first in our history! The Year of fraternal life is from February 3, 2022 to February 3, 2023  May this year be celebrated as a Pilgrimage to our Sources: The Word of God, the origins of our fraternal living in community as seen in the teachings of our Foundress and our Superior Generals as well as in the teachings of Pope Francis in Fratelli Tutti.

We wish to share with you the many beautiful reactions that have come from our Sisters in our fraternal communities on the four continents of the world. This international assembly by ZOOM seized our hearts and rekindled our desires.

Echoes from our Sisters…

  • I am very eager for Feb 3 to come to receive the letter of Mother. I am excited to discover how each Superior General at our Sources animated our Sisters to live, love and witness the beauty of community life. It is very true that it is the Lord Who is the reason for our community life.
  • Thank you so much Mother we hope to hear more of your inspiring messages.
  • I feel excited to receive the circular.  As it was presented, I was also thanking God to have heard my prayer.  I have been in the process of deepening community life in our Welcome House in Vietnam, the need that I see the most.  We are all grown up in age, not anymore young and I see the need to share to them the Community life in and of the Presentation of Mary Congregation.  I am looking for materials aside from our Rule of Life and the Scriptures, the one that we can journey together.  I imagine the circular as very substantial in helping our community live as PM.  Thank you Mother for this wonderful project.  May this help us all in our journey to conversion and holiness with Jesus as our brother walking with us and all the Saints especially for Mama Mary and Mother Rivier.
  • Thank you Mother and all the Council for an inspiring presentation. It was especially meaningful receiving this with so many other sisters throughout the world.
  • très touchée par cette belle confèrence
  • Thank you very much Rev. Mother for your talk and bringing us back to our origins. We are one.
  • Gracias Madre María dos Anjos y a todo el consejo. En este encuentro ya nos hemos juntado y juntas queremos vivir con fe, amor y mucha esperanza  como nos recuerda la Madre partiendo del evangelio y de nuestros orígenes.
  • Dear Mother and you Council.  I am grateful for this wonderful gift of coming together.  Thank you for this touching message.  May the Holy Spirit grant us the grace to live together as one.  Thank you and God bless you.
  • Your sharing of Mo. Marie des Anges is like a brilliant light redirecting the sisters who go astray from the path of our goal or destiny as religious of the sisters of the presentation of Mary. It reminds me also of the true treasures of my life as daughter of Marie Rivier. It is a great reminder to never lose sight to our conviction and purpose of our calling. To remain in love and desire all the more to belong absolutely to Jesus Christ. Thank you, Mother!
  • I am very much challenge  on the call to reflect personally and as a  community on how far have we changed/ transformed our hearts/ lives after many years of knowing, living His mysteries, loving & following Jesus? How  far have we been  responding to d call of forming  ONE Community Heart?
