OUR HEARTS ARE FILLED WITH GRATITUDE

SAINT MARIE RIVIER!

The Thanksgiving mass was presided by Bishop Alberto Uy of the Diocese in Tagbilaran, Bohol in the Philippines. Bohol is a small island whose people are known for their deep and strong Catholic faith. The Boholanos are generally joyful people – the sort of joy that is rooted in their trust and lively faith in God. In this context, God, through the intercession of Saint Marie Rivier, brought about the miraculous healing of an unborn child in a young family in a small town called Nahawan.  Together, we celebrated our profound joy and gratitude for this healing, an immense gratitude for the merciful love God bestowed on this family through the intercession of His servant Marie Rivier. The special presence of the Blessed Virgin Mary also accompanied our thanksgiving celebration, lived in the beautiful Basilica dedicated to her. What a wonderful place to celebrate the deepest filial relationship between Saint Marie Rivier and Our Blessed Mother!   The Magnificat of the Blessed Virgin Mary echoed in our hearts!

The Eucharistic celebration ushered us into a fraternal gathering hosted by the Centro Mariapoli of the Focolare Movement in Castel Gandolfo. We spent an afternoon filled with fun, camaraderie and togetherness. The members of the Spiritual Family of Marie Rivier were ONE in praise and gratitude to God. We listened to testimonies of persons who were touched by our Foundress’ life, sang and enjoyed the creative presentations that our Sisters had prepared.

The visit of the delegations to the General House continued. We welcomed the different groups from each of our Provinces, Regions and Missions. They strolled through the garden and admired the beautiful panoramic view of Lake Albano. The community had prepared a celebration of the veneration of the relic of St. Mary Rivier in the community chapel.

Marie Rivier’s “Let us come together!”  was a remarkable reality during these three days! The goodness of the Lord was truly our stronghold, hope, and joy.  He fulfilled the deepest hope of our hearts! As Mother Maria dos Anjos Alves wrote in her letter: A new pathway has opened up for us. The Lord has showered us with blessings with the canonization of ten new saints and among them our Foundress, Saint Marie Rivier! God is rich in mercy; because of the great love with which he loved us … he gave us life with Christ (Ep 2:4)

God bless us all!
