CELEBRATING THE FEAST OF ST. MARIE RIVIER
On February 3, the school community of the Presentation of Mary School of Clarin (PMSC) celebrated the Feast of St. Marie Rivier. The Holy Mass was presided by Rev. Father, Dennis Leornas, the Parish Priest of St. Michael The Archangel Church of Clarin. The mass commemorated the path of St. Marie Rivier, which was the path of great tenacity and courage toward her path of holiness. This celebration was also participated by school Parents, Alumni representatives, Marie Rivier Associates (MRA), and invited friends.
After the mass, a short entertainment program was prepared for the enjoyment of our guests. The invited residents received goods from the MRA. The recipients expressed words of gratitude to the Associates, and from there on we proceeded to the Sisters- Convent to partake in the festive lunch.
In the afternoon, the school community went out of its way to spend time with the people in Barangay Villaflor (a small village) and offer foodstuffs and other goods to individuals and families who were struggling to make ends meet. This thoughtful gesture brought smiles to their faces and deep gratitude from their hearts!
The school management was also deeply grateful to all the pupils and students who offered and shared bundles of foodstuff during the days of the Novena to Saint Marie Rivier. For nine days of the novena, the school has collected these goods to give to our poor brothers and sisters. Some generous friends in Europe have sent some clothing to give them. The feast of Saint Marie Rivier cannot be fully celebrated without reaching out to our brothers and sisters in need.
It was a wonderful day, filled with meaning. A day well spent with the less privileged members of our community in the spirit of the Saint we were celebrating. Thank you to our Almighty Father for the successful and meaningful outreach to our brothers and sisters… a compassionate gesture by the members of the Spiritual Family to honor their Beloved Foundress Saint Marie Rivier.
