United States Province
Celebration of the reception of the Rule of Life
From December 12-18 Mother Maria dos Anjos, Sr. Louise Benoit and Sr. Kelly Connors visited the United States Province. During meaningful celebrations, each sister received our revised Rule of Life with joy from the hands of Mother Maria dos Anjos, as she said: “Receive the Rule of Life like a light on your way to holiness.” In a symbolic act each sister advanced toward the altar, touched the cross of the Lord and signed herself with holy water.
On December 15, Bishop Robert Hennessey blessed our Rule of Life at the end of Mass in Methuen. On December 17, many Sisters gathered in Manchester where Father Roland Cote officiated.
During their time among us, Mother Maria dos Anjos and the council members present visited our local communities and schools.
During this special year dedicated to our Rule of Life, let us keep these words of Mother Rivier in our hearts: “This year, everything must be renewed. May the Rule be observed more than ever, may all work at their holiness with ardor. Let us be faithful to grace, doing good as long as we can. Fiat!”
