225 Years of Making Jesus Christ Known and Loved
“Salamat Kanimo, O Ginoo.”
This is how “Thanks to you, O Lord” is said in the Visayan dialect, here in the Philippines. Needless to say, the Sisters, their lay collaborators, students, alumni, parents/guardians, employees, orphans, benefactors, and friends were of one mind and heart in resounding these words of thanksgiving as they celebrated the 225th anniversary of the foundation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary (PM) Congregation.
Last November 19, 2021, the year of thanksgiving was culminated by a series of varied activities. The simultaneous celebration of the Holy Eucharist in the communities and missions started the festivities in the morning. At the Provincial campus main chapel, the mass was presided over by a priest alumnus, Rev. Fr. Voltaire Dimol together with the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Maximo Bahinting and a priest from the seminary, Rev. Fr. Ruperto Hamili, also a PM school alumnus. Fr. Voltaire shared in his homily his deep gratitude to the Sisters who played an important part in the discovery and formation of his priestly vocation.
In the schools, the Sisters had their Holy Mass livestreamed so as to allow virtual participation among their students, employees, and other stakeholders. The celebration of thanksgiving in the Holy Mass was deepened more when the message of Mother Marie des Anges in a video was played for everyone to hear and see. What better way to feel the heartwarming virtual presence of a mother in this extraordinary time of celebration!
As the Philippines is celebrating its 500th YOC with the theme: “Gifted to Give”, truly the Province has been so blessed to share and thus, has every reason to say: “Salamat Kanimo, O Ginoo.”
