“LET US FIND JOY IN WELCOMING ST. MARIE RIVIER”

Indeed the Sisters of the Region of the Gambia, together with our associates, teachers and students joyfully welcomed the statue of our dearest foundress, the saint of our time.
The welcoming ceremony, the unveiling and blessing of the statue and relic was done on Saturday, the 29th June, 2024 at the novitiate chapel, Fajara. It was a day of recollection for the Sisters of the region.
In the evening, at 5pm we had a Eucharistic celebration. Some Associates from our different branches, teachers and pupils/students from our four schools joined the Sisters to grace this special occasion. They were present at Mass, and dressed in their different uniforms. The children have a special place in St. Marie Rivier’s heart, therefore, the children from our two nursery schools assisted Sr. Marie Solange Badji in the unveiling of the statue. The associates from Banjul branch also presented a beautiful bouquet to our foundress, St. Marie Rivier, and placed it at the foot of the statue.
Sr. Marie Solange Badji, the Regional Superior, welcomed all who were present and encouraged all to always invoke the name of St. Marie Rivier and said that the chapel is open to all who wish to come and pray at the foot of the statue.
Finally, at the end of the ceremony, snacks and drinks were served to all present. The ceremony was indeed a remarkable one.
VIVA ST. MARIE RIVIER! VIVA THE WOMAN APOSTLE!
