Looking to the future together!

It was with this theme that the assembly for the merger of the Sisters of St. Charles of Lyon with the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Brazil and Peru took place from May 28 to June 2 at Recanto Pascal in Maringá-PR.
It was attended by all the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary who are in Brazil and Peru, and all the Sisters of St. Charles of Lyon who are in Brazil; The Mother General of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, Sister Maria dos Anjos Alves, the two General Councillors, Sister Jane Wilkinson and Sister Danielle Duplessis, the Provincial of Portugal, Sister Maria Fernanda da Mata Pereira, the Mother General of the Sisters of St. Charles of Lyon, Sister Edna Maria Belter and her Councillors, Sister Celi Gonçalves de Souza, Sister Izabel Gomes da Silva and Sister Maria Helena Oliveira da Silva.
The Assembly was moderated by Sister Marian Murcia, who was able to lead all the moments in a dynamic way, with reflections and sharing.
The first highlight was the creation of meeting structures, where each participant had time to get to know each other in different ways and dynamics.
The sisters were challenged by Sister Marian Murcia to focus on the essentials of their vocation, with the impulse to dream big, but always keeping their feet on the ground.
The second highlight was the presentation of the communities, where the missions carried out were shared. This was followed by group sharing to find the common and different points of the mission, a very rich moment of valuing differences.
The third and final highlight was the concrete steps to be taken in the long and short term, including working together in vocations ministry and community exchange.
I am grateful to God for these days of deep knowledge, prayer, sharing and fraternal conviviality. And may God be glorified in all this!
Sister Aline Maria Braga,pm
