The  Ghana Mission

The Mission of Ghana started in July 2015 with our two Ghanaian sisters; Sister Theresa Obeng and Sister Gladys Osei.  They left the Gambia on this day after twenty eight years of missionary life there to begin the Presentation of Mary Congregation in Ghana, their native land. This heroic venture brought an end to the long-standing invitation of Bishop Peter Sarpong, the Bishop of the diocese of Kumasi who for several years invited the Presentation of Mary sisters to work in his diocese.  Unfortunately, when the congregation was ready to respond to his invitation, Bishop Peter Sarpong had already retired.  The Holy Spirit however led us to the diocese of Bishop Joseph Osei Bonsu  of Konongo Mampong,  to a hilly town of Agogo in the Ashanti Region.  Agogo became the place of birth of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Ghana, their dwelling place among the Ashanti people where they will live,  witness and teach Jesus Christ by their whole life.

In November 2015, Sister Theresa Obeng and Sister Gladys were joined by Sister Ellen Mendy,  a second year novice who was had come there on mission experience.
