Faith, Hope, and Love during a time of Pandemic

News from Marlborough, Massachusetts

Because of Covid-19, we are in “lockdown.”  No one can enter our house to visit, and no one from our community can leave, except for a short walk on our grounds.

Each morning, we receive a menu from the kitchen.  We choose what we want to eat for the day and it is delivered to our bedroom where all meals take place.  The only other place we can go in the building is our chapel.  We have had no Mass or communion for over 4 months.  Our Activity Director, Cindy, has been very good to us.  To break the monotony and stimulate a bit of socialization, she leads various activities as we sit in our bedroom doorways, six feet apart, for an hour or so each afternoon.  In the photos we are enjoying an ice cream treat.  Sometimes, we play “BINGO.”  At other times, she leads us in a variety of physical exercises.  While normal community events are suspended, we Praise God for this gift of being able to socialize.

Throughout the world, we know each of you are experiencing some kind of restriction because of Covid-19.  Let us pray for one another as we live through this unique time.  May we appreciate all the more our DAILY BREAD and our life together!
