General House
Retirement of Mrs. Luigina ‘Gina’ Farini
On Saturday, January 30, 2021, we gave thanks to God for our dear Gina who is now beginning her time of retirement.
In his message of January 1, 2021, entitled “The culture of care as a path of peace,” Pope Francis tells us: “The Christians of the first generation… tried to make the community a welcoming home, open to every human situation, ready to take care of the most fragile.
For 21 years, Gina has been responsible for cleaning, sweeping, scrubbing, washing, waxing, polishing and shining every nook and cranny of this house to make it clean, beautiful and welcoming at all hours of the day. She has really taken care of our home.
For 21 years, Gina has fulfilled the mission of housekeeper with a love for each sister that was renewed every morning. Her smile, good humor and joyful attitude were positive energies that did us all a lot of good.
So it was not without emotion that we celebrated her departure. She was our Good Samaritan. To each of us, she gave the gift of proximity. We can safely say that during these 21 years of service, she allowed us to work in peace and serenity. She knew how to widen the dimensions of her heart to welcome all the sisters who passed through this house. The sisters of the Casa, the sisters on renewal or on pilgrimage, everyone remembers good relationships with Gina despite the language barrier that limited conversation.
Gina, in expressing her gratitude, asked us to greet all the Sisters she has met during these years and to tell them that she will continue to carry them all in her heart. These encounters with the sisters “passing through” were always a source of joy for her.
In the name of all the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, past and present, we say: Thank you Gina for your generous heart. May God bless you abundantly! Grazie Gina!
