Philippine Province’ First Profession of Vows

FIRST PROFESSION OF VOWS

Magnificat!

Last May 2, 2019, Sr. Juvy Jean T. Ormido pronounced her First Profession of Vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience in the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. Like Samuel in the Old Testament, she boldly uttered the words « Here I am », as her response to the call of God.  Sr. Juvy Jean heard God’s call in her childhood, and again as a young adult while serving as a youth leader, a catechist and a secondary school teacher. Without any doubt, she generously offered her life to God who called her from a very busy teaching profession and active involvement in the Parish Church.

The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D. the Archbishop of Davao. The celebration was attended by the immediate family members of Sr. Juvy Jean and the Sisters of the Province.  Her mother Mrs. Veronica T. Ormido was so happy to offer her daughter to God and to serve the Church as a PM Sister.

In the presence of the presiding Bishop, the PM community and her own family, Sr. Juvy Jean made her special consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The newly professed Sisters had expressed her gratitude to God and to everyone present on her day of self-offering. After the Holy Mass, a table fellowship followed at the Rivier Retreat House refectory to which all were happy to join in.

The Philippine Province is grateful to God for the gift of vocation to the Church of Davao and to the PM Congregation.

Magnificat!
