Spiritual Renewal 2020

Commitment and Fidelity

We started our week with a day of integration. We were invited to reflect on the themes we have looked at together and what we have experienced since our arrival.  It was a time of thanksgiving for the work of the Lord in the life of each one.

As we began our new theme: Commitment and Fidelity we had the joy of listening to three of our sisters who shared the story of their vocation with us. Their testimonies edified and encouraged us.  With them we gave thanks to the Lord for his call in their lives and in ours.

As we continued our reflection we revisited the call of the first disciples but more particularly the vocation and mission of Peter.  Peter, pillar of the Church, lived his personal journey and became, little by little, the shepherd of God’s flock, the Rock on which Jesus built his Church.

Marie Rivier, too, knew how to listen to the Lord through the inner and outer signs of her life: Lord, what do you want me to do? All her life, she tried to do the Father’s will in a spirit of adoration and offering.  This is truly the great gift she left us as our heritage: the spirit of prayer.

We also are called in turn to follow in the footsteps of Peter, of Marie Rivier and all of our predecessors on this path of commitment and fidelity.  Let us help one another grow, day by day, in the holiness of our vocation, by a constant renewing of our spirit and a generous fidelity to our commitments. Together, with you, we want to live this special Holy Week 2020 with fervour.  Let us carry the whole world in our prayer on this path that leads us to Easter.
