Perpetual Profession of Sr. Therese Quyen Thi Nguyen, pm

Amidst the global crisis caused by the COVID-19, the Philippine Province celebrated with joyful and grateful hearts as Sr. Therese Quyen Thi Nguyen, pm pronounced her perpetual vows July 14, 2020. Her perpetual profession was officiated by Most Reverend Abel C. Apigo, DD- an alumnus of one of our schools in the Philippines with the presence of a deacon, two concelebrating priests and the Sisters of the Philippine Province.

Despite the absence of her family during that momentous day, nothing prevented Sr. Quyen from being joyful and grateful for her experiences of God’s graciousness, generosity, mercy and love. Sr. Quyen crossed the seas of Vietnam to go to Japan, and from Japan to the Philippines. She encountered many waves during her journey but God sustained her YES by inspiring her to choose to follow Him unreservedly. She believes that God is the One who calls her to live as an instrument of His love. She decided to continue to live her YES in total obedience to the Will of God like the Blessed Virgin Mary who said, “I am the handmaid of the Lord, may it be done to me according to your Word” (Luke 1:38).

Sr. Quyen expressed her heartfelt gratitude particularly to M. Maria dos Anjos and her Council, to her family who supported her along the way, to the sisters from the Mission of Japan who guided her at the beginning of her journey, and to the sisters of the Philippine Province who walked and will walk with her day after day as she journeys towards holiness. Let us continue to accompany Sr. Quyen with our prayers. May she always hold on to Him and trust in His merciful love through the intercession of Mary and Blessed Marie Rivier. May she always strive to become a faithful witness of Jesus Christ to whom she now absolutely belongs for time and eternity.
